rito's

i know heatherlee loves green chile. nothing special to me. i just went to a hole in the wall in phx called rito's. i had a green chile burro and two tacos. the tacos were great - put them up against anywhere but it was the green chile burro that kicked rear heiny. i don't even order green chile! and good tacos are just good tacos, nothing transcendental about a good taco.

the green chile burro. nice tortilla. soupy green chile filling with chunks of nice beef. just really great flavor/taste for $4.50.

unfortunately, i treated it like a taco bell burrito (not realizing how much sauce & such was in there) & it blew out the bottom & i covered my shirt & jeans with much of it (way too much of it as i wanted to eat it all). i look very cool right now.
it's on 14th and roosevelt (actually on 14th just south of roosevelt) in a residential neighborhood.

kind of reminds me of the carolina's scenario but with a far more limited menu. yummy, yummy green chile though.

bummer is only open m-f (9 - 5).

it was a mad-house though at around 11:30. huge line. didn't take that long to get through though. definitely will be going back.

update: stopped by rito's on the way home & barely squeezed in before they locked the door. got 2 green chile burros & a side of beans. heatherlee loved the green chile burro (we split it) and we both loved the beans. jcarnie, stuie & pp really liked the other one too! green chile from rito's!
