los 3

Lotus of Siam is one of my very favorite restaurants in the world. Though most of my other tops are sushi/Japanese places, I find myself craving LOS more than anything.

I still cannot get the last meal we had there out of my mind. It was Heather & Marina's first trip & it was amazing. We had a killer server named Tony & he so took care of us with great recommendations & looking out for Marina's allergies.

We had:
  • the Nam Kao Tod (as is often recommended), minced sour sausage mixed with green onion, fresh chili, ginger, peanut, crispy rice, tons of fresh herbs, and lime juice - the sausage is chopped tiny, tiny so don't expect to see chunks of it.
  • softshell crab salad (not on the menu but I asked for it as I had it as a daily special before) with chopped chilis, cilantro, mint, bean sprouts, green apple, peanutes, jullienne carrots, julienne red peppers, cashews. I have been craving this daily for well over a month now.
  • excellent shrimp curry with cognac sauce
  • wonderful drunken noodles with chicken - Heather got this spicy. It was awesome. Spicy for me but I ponied up. I had to get 2 (wonderful) thai iced teas to cut the heat.
  • out of this world sticky rice with mango and coconut ice cream. Do NOT pass on the coconut ice cream. I would never ever miss this.
  • they also made a rice noodle dish for marina that was like chow fun that was killer.
  • marina also got a killer limeade.
